Jailer 2 Surpasses ₹400 Cr Domestic Gross in India

Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth and directed by S. Shankar, was released on 18 August 2023 and has now crossed the ₹400 crore threshold at the Indian box office. The film has earned approximately ₹400.5 crore in domestic collections, making it one of the highest‑grossing Tamil movies of the year. The strong performance has been attributed to the star power of Rajinikanth, the film’s high‑budget production values, and a wide release across multiplexes and single screens. Industry analysts note that the film’s success could pave the way for more pan‑Indian releases from South Indian filmmakers. The producers have announced plans to continue promoting the film in international markets, where it has already seen a positive response.
