Jailer 2 Shatters Leo’s Kollywood Box‑Office Records in Kerala and Middle East

Jailer 2, the much‑anticipated follow‑up to the 2023 hit Jailer, opened to strong occupancy across South India and overseas territories. Within its first week, the film’s collections in Kerala outstripped those of Leo, setting a new benchmark for Tamil‑language releases in the state. Trade analysts noted that the movie’s earnings in the Middle East also eclipsed Leo’s previous record, making it the top‑grossing Kollywood title in that region.
The surge is attributed to the star power of its lead actor, aggressive marketing by the producers, and positive word‑of‑mouth on social media. Cinema owners in Kerala reported record‑high footfall, while multiplexes in Dubai and Abu Dhabi saw unprecedented ticket sales for a Tamil film.
Industry observers say the achievement underscores the growing appeal of Tamil cinema beyond traditional markets, and could influence distribution strategies for upcoming releases.
The film’s producers have thanked fans for their support, and the success is expected to boost the overall box‑office performance of Indian regional cinema in overseas territories.
