The Malayalam action film Jailer 2 has surpassed the long‑standing box‑office record held by Baahubali 2 in Kerala, collecting ₹72.85 crore in its 13th day of release.
Jailer 2, the latest offering from Malayalam cinema, has posted a remarkable ₹72.85 crore collection in Kerala on its 13th day, eclipsing the 9‑year record set by Baahubali 2. The film’s strong performance underscores the sustained interest in high‑budget, action‑packed narratives among Kerala audiences.
Baahubali 2, which held the state’s box‑office record for almost a decade, was surpassed by a margin of over ₹10 crore, marking a significant milestone for the regional film industry. The new record reflects both the film’s star power and the effective marketing strategy employed by the producers.
Industry analysts note that Jailer 2’s success could influence future investment decisions, encouraging more high‑profile projects in Malayalam cinema. The film’s continued run is expected to attract additional viewers, potentially pushing its total earnings even higher.
With the record now set, distributors and exhibitors are optimistic about the film’s longevity, and the production team is preparing for a possible extended theatrical run across other Indian states.
