The deputy general of the Indo‑Tibetan Border Police said that confrontations with Chinese forces are ongoing at several spots along the Arunachal Pradesh frontier.
New Delhi – The deputy general of the Indo‑Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) confirmed that the standoff with Chinese troops continues at a number of points along the Arunachal Pradesh border. He said patrol units have reported repeated incursions and heightened activity by Chinese forces in the sector.
According to the ITBP official, the confrontations are not isolated; they are being observed at multiple locations spanning the eastern and western stretches of the frontier. The border personnel have been instructed to maintain vigilance, reinforce outposts and avoid any escalation while monitoring the movements of the People's Liberation Army.
The Indian Ministry of Defence has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the country's territorial integrity. While diplomatic channels remain open, officials have warned that any violation of the Line of Actual Control will be met with a proportionate response. Recent weeks have seen similar flare‑ups in other Himalayan sectors, underscoring the fragile security environment.
Local residents in border villages have reported disruptions to daily life, with some areas experiencing temporary road closures and heightened security checks. The ITBP continues to coordinate with state authorities to ensure civilian safety while sustaining a robust defensive posture.
