The Arunachal Pradesh capital has introduced a new mobile application to improve waste collection, allowing residents to report issues and receive timely service.

Itanagar municipal authorities have rolled out a dedicated mobile application aimed at modernising the city’s waste‑management system. The platform enables households and businesses to log garbage collection requests, flag missed pickups and receive updates on service schedules.

Officials say the digital tool is expected to reduce response times and optimise collection routes, thereby cutting down on litter accumulation in public spaces. By centralising data on waste volumes and collection status, the app also provides the corporation with actionable insights for planning resources.

The launch follows a broader push by local governments across India to adopt technology for civic services. Residents are encouraged to download the app from major app stores and register their addresses to start using the service immediately.
