Irish Cricketer Rebecca Stokes Suspended for Doping Violation

Ireland’s leading all‑rounder Rebecca Stokes confirmed that she violated anti‑doping regulations and has agreed to the penalty announced by the International Cricket Council. The ICC’s disciplinary panel imposed a suspension, the length of which was not disclosed in the brief statement released by the board. Stokes’ admission follows routine testing procedures that flagged a prohibited substance in her sample. The Irish Cricket Union said it will support the player through the sanction and ensure compliance with future anti‑doping protocols. The incident adds to ongoing scrutiny of doping controls in women’s cricket worldwide.
