At a recent BRICS meeting, Iran advocated for moving away from the US dollar in international trade, while India outlined its cautious support for a multilateral currency framework.
Iran used the platform of the BRICS currency debate to urge member states to reduce reliance on the US dollar, arguing that a diversified monetary system would enhance economic sovereignty and stability.
