The Indian Premier League will hold a mini‑auction for the 2027 season on 16 December at the ITC Grand Goa resort, coinciding with the India vs Sri Lanka Test match.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that a mini‑auction for the IPL 2027 season will be conducted on 16 December. The event will be hosted at the luxury ITC Grand Goa resort in Goa, aligning with the India versus Sri Lanka Test match scheduled at the same venue.
The mini‑auction is intended to allow franchises to fine‑tune their squads ahead of the full player auction later in the year. While the exact list of players up for selection has not been disclosed, the BCCI confirmed that the auction will follow the standard IPL auction format, with a live telecast expected on major sports channels.
Organisers expect the combined cricketing festivities – the Test match and the auction – to draw significant attention from fans and media alike, boosting tourism in Goa during the holiday season. The BCCI has urged franchise owners and players to adhere to the league's code of conduct throughout the proceedings.
Further details regarding registration, bidding procedures, and the auction timetable will be released by the IPL governing council in the coming days.
