The intern doctors began their protest at Kamla Park in Bhopal, staying overnight to press their demand for a higher stipend. They said the agitation continued despite facing lathi charge and water cannon from authorities.
On Tuesday, the doctors will boycott the regular outpatient department (OPD) and all scheduled operation theatre (OT) procedures at Hamidia Hospital. They emphasized that emergency services will remain functional to avoid jeopardizing patient care.
The protest is part of an ongoing movement by intern doctors across the state seeking better remuneration. Hospital authorities have not yet issued an official response to the boycott notice.
Officials have urged the doctors to resume duties, warning that the disruption could affect routine medical services in the city.
