Integrated Infant‑Child Health Programme Starts in Alwar, Bharatpur for Kids up to 3

Rajasthan's health department has launched a pilot integrated infant and child health programme in Alwar and Bharatpur, focusing on monitoring health, nutrition and development of children up to three years old.
The health ministry of Rajasthan announced the rollout of an integrated infant and child health programme on a pilot basis in the districts of Alwar and Bharatpur. The scheme targets children from birth to three years, aiming to provide systematic monitoring of their health status, nutritional intake and developmental milestones.
Under the programme, local health workers will conduct regular home visits, record growth parameters, and refer cases requiring medical attention to nearby primary health centres. Nutritional supplements and counselling for parents on infant care are also part of the service package.
Officials said the pilot will run for an initial period of two years, after which data will be evaluated to decide on a statewide expansion. The initiative aligns with national child‑health goals and seeks to reduce early childhood malnutrition and disease in the region.
