From October 21 to November 5, Indore will undergo scheduled power maintenance, causing a three‑hour daily outage to ensure uninterrupted supply during Diwali, with demand expected to reach 580 MW.

The Madhya Pradesh Power Distribution Company has announced a city‑wide maintenance programme for Indore beginning on October 21 and running until November 5. Each day a three‑hour window will be designated for planned power cuts, allowing crews to upgrade infrastructure ahead of the high‑demand Diwali period.

Officials said the shutdown will be timed to minimise inconvenience, with the outage scheduled during early morning hours when commercial activity is low. The move aims to prevent unplanned blackouts when electricity consumption is projected to peak at about 580 megawatts across the city.

Residents have been advised to conserve energy and make necessary arrangements for essential appliances during the brief interruption. The utility expects the maintenance to secure a reliable supply throughout the festival season.

The schedule will be communicated through local media and the utility’s official channels, and any changes will be announced promptly.
