Indore police have issued warnings to potential trouble‑makers as part of the ‘Mera Mohalla, No Halla’ drive, aiming for a peaceful Diwali celebration.

Indore police launched a pre‑Diwali operation on Tuesday, warning individuals identified as potential trouble‑makers under the city’s ‘Mera Mohalla, No Halla’ (My Neighborhood, No Noise) campaign. The initiative, announced by the Indore Police Commissioner, seeks to curb anti‑social behaviour and ensure a calm atmosphere during the upcoming festive period.

Officers conducted patrols in several densely populated localities, distributing notices that warned of strict action against any acts of vandalism, public nuisance or illegal gatherings. The police emphasized that the campaign is a preventive measure, not a punitive one, and urged residents to cooperate by reporting any suspicious activity.

The move comes as authorities across Madhya Pradesh intensify security preparations ahead of Diwali, a time when crowds and celebrations can sometimes lead to disturbances. While no specific incidents have been reported yet, the police aim to deter potential disruptions through visible presence and community outreach.

Local residents expressed support for the proactive stance, noting that a peaceful neighbourhood is essential for families to enjoy the festival without fear. The police have also set up a dedicated helpline for citizens to report violations directly to the command centre.

The ‘Mera Mohalla, No Halla’ drive will continue throughout the Diwali week, with regular updates from the police department on compliance and any enforcement actions taken.
