Indore Police Bust Mule Account Scam Gang in Operation Matrix, Six Arrested

Indore Aerodrome police, operating under Operation Matrix, exposed a network that provided mule accounts for cyber fraud, arresting six suspects while one remains at large.
Indore's Aerodrome police launched Operation Matrix to target a criminal ring that facilitated cyber fraud by supplying "mule" bank accounts. The investigation revealed that the gang maintained multiple accounts that were used to launder proceeds from online scams.
During the raid, six individuals were taken into custody, while a seventh suspect managed to evade arrest and is currently being pursued. Authorities seized transaction records showing transfers amounting to several crores of rupees across the identified accounts.
Police officials disclosed that the seized data linked the accounts to more than 200 separate cyber‑fraud incidents, underscoring the scale of the operation. The crackdown aims to deter similar schemes and protect potential victims from future online scams.
The investigation remains ongoing, with investigators continuing to trace the financial trail and locate the remaining fugitive. The police have urged the public to report any suspicious online activity promptly.
