On September 6, the collector, mayor, MLA and other officials will conduct a sweeping drive across Rajbada and other parts of Indore after sanitation workers observe a holiday for Goga Navami.
Indore will see an unusual cleaning operation on 6 September when the district collector, the mayor, the local MLA and senior administrative officers take up brooms to sweep public spaces. The initiative comes as sanitation staff have been granted leave to celebrate Goga Navami, a regional festival observed in parts of Madhya Pradesh.
The officials are scheduled to begin the drive at 7 a.m., starting from the historic Rajbada precinct and moving through other prominent localities. Their participation is intended to maintain cleanliness standards while the regular cleaning workforce is on holiday.
City authorities said the symbolic act underscores the commitment of elected representatives to civic hygiene and encourages residents to keep the city tidy even during festival periods.
