After 22 inches of rain left potholes unchanged and a court case, Indore’s municipal corporation has begun night‑time road repairs before Diwali.

Heavy rainfall of about 22 inches fell on Indore recently, yet the city’s streets continued to be riddled with potholes, causing inconvenience to commuters. The persistence of the problem prompted residents to seek legal recourse, and the matter eventually reached the courts. In response to the court’s attention and mounting public pressure, the Indore Municipal Corporation announced a focused repair drive. Starting this week, crews are working through the night to fill potholes across key arterial roads, aiming to complete the work before the Diwali festivities. Officials said the night‑time schedule minimizes traffic disruption and demonstrates the corporation’s commitment to improving urban infrastructure ahead of the holiday season.
