A 1000‑ton tunnel boring machine has started excavating a 20‑meter‑deep underground tunnel for Indore’s metro, linking the airport with Bada Ganpati, beginning operations on Tuesday.
Indore’s metro project has taken a significant step forward as a 1000‑ton tunnel boring machine (TBM) began operations on Tuesday. Positioned near the airport, the machine will excavate a tunnel 20 metres below ground level. The tunnel is planned to connect the airport with the Bada Ganpati area, forming a key segment of Phase‑I of the metro network. The construction is expected to cut travel time between the two points and support the city’s expanding public‑transport infrastructure.
