Indore is grappling with a severe water shortage, forcing residents to seek alternative sources and prompting authorities to investigate the cause.
On October 15, 2026, the city of Indore reported a severe water crisis, with municipal supply cut off in several districts.
Residents have turned to bottled water and community water points as the city’s main supply struggled to meet demand. The municipal corporation has set up emergency distribution centers and is investigating infrastructure failures that may have caused the shortage.
The crisis has sparked concerns over long‑term water management in the region and calls for urgent government action to secure a reliable supply for the city’s growing population.
