Indore: Elephant Gets Bail

In a unique case, an elephant that was involved in a fatal accident in Indore's Rajanagar area has been granted conditional bail by a local court. The elephant, which was in the city to feed on jaggery, trampled a youth to death. The court has ordered that the elephant not be taken out of the city until the final verdict is delivered. The elephant has been handed over to a group of sadhus. The mahout and owner of the elephant, who were found responsible for the accident, have been sent to jail.
