The Indore Additional District Magistrate’s court imposed a total fine of ₹52 lakh on 17 large food manufacturers and sellers for breaching safety standards and operating without licenses.

The Additional District Magistrate (ADM) court in Indore has levied a cumulative fine of ₹52 lakh on seventeen large‑scale food firms for violating food safety regulations. The verdict targets companies that were found to be involved in adulteration, false labeling and operating without the requisite licences for manufacturing and selling food products.

According to the court’s order, each firm will bear a portion of the total penalty, which reflects the seriousness of the infractions and the court’s intent to deter similar practices. The enforcement action follows inspections by local food safety officials that uncovered multiple breaches of the Food Safety and Standards Act.

The ruling sends a clear message to the food industry in Madhya Pradesh that non‑compliance will attract stringent legal consequences. Authorities have urged all manufacturers and retailers to adhere strictly to licensing requirements and quality standards to protect consumer health.
