During the Inter‑Parliamentary Union assembly, MP Harivansh Narayan Singh told Pakistan that Jammu and Kashmir will remain an inseparable part of India.

At a recent session of the Inter‑Parliamentary Union (IPU), Indian parliamentarian Harivansh Narayan Singh addressed delegates and directly responded to Pakistan's position on the disputed region. He reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir is an integral component of the Indian Union and will remain so irrespective of external commentary.

Singh's remarks were aimed at countering Pakistan's repeated calls for a plebiscite, emphasizing that India's constitutional and legislative framework already incorporates the region. He underscored that any change to the status of Jammu and Kashmir would have to arise from within India's democratic processes, not from foreign pressure.

The statement aligns with New Delhi's long‑standing policy on the issue and reflects the broader diplomatic narrative India has maintained at multilateral forums. Observers note that such reaffirmations at international parliamentary gatherings serve to reinforce India's territorial claims while signalling resolve to the global community.
