Reports have surfaced of Indians abroad being subjected to racist remarks, including 'Go back to India' jokes, with some incidents captured on camera.
Reports from Bhaskar English detail a growing trend of racist harassment against Indians overseas. In several incidents, bystanders shouted ‘Go back to India’ at Indian nationals, with the abuse recorded on smartphones and shared widely on social media.
The videos show a mix of verbal insults and physical intimidation, highlighting a disturbing pattern of xenophobia. Indian community leaders have condemned the acts and urged authorities in host countries to take stronger action against hate crimes.
While the incidents vary in location, they underscore a broader issue of rising anti-Indian sentiment abroad. The Indian government has called for diplomatic engagement to protect its citizens abroad and to promote intercultural understanding.
The backlash has sparked discussions on social media about racism, prompting calls for better enforcement of anti-discrimination laws in host nations.
Authorities in several countries have pledged to investigate the incidents and to support victims, but many feel that more proactive measures are needed to prevent future abuse.
