An Indian museum has secured a higher position than the Louvre and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the latest World's 100 Best list, according to India Today.
The latest edition of the World's 100 Best list places an Indian museum ahead of both the Louvre in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The ranking, published by a global cultural index, marks the first time an Indian institution has eclipsed these long‑standing Western benchmarks.
Industry observers note that the achievement reflects growing international recognition of India's heritage preservation and curatorial standards. The museum's inclusion among the top tier signals a shift in how global audiences value non‑Western cultural venues.
India Today reported the development without providing further details on the museum's specific exhibitions or visitor numbers. Nonetheless, cultural officials have welcomed the news as evidence of India's expanding influence on the world museum scene.
