The Indian Army has refuted viral social‑media posts alleging that Chinese troops entered Arunachal Pradesh by 50 km and has identified six Pakistan‑sponsored accounts spreading the misinformation.

Social media platforms were buzzing with posts claiming that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army had moved 50 kilometres inside India’s Arunachal Pradesh, a claim that quickly went viral.

In a formal statement, the Indian Army said the allegation is unfounded, noting that no such incursion has been recorded by border surveillance or field units. The army reiterated that the Line of Actual Control remains unchanged and that all troop movements are monitored closely.

The defence ministry also disclosed that six online handles, traced to Pakistan, were actively amplifying the false narrative. These accounts have been flagged for violating platform policies, and steps are being taken to curb further spread of the misinformation.

Officials urged the public to rely on verified sources for security‑related news, especially given the sensitive nature of India‑China border dynamics.
