The Indian government has established a control room in Makkah to monitor and coordinate responses to recent flight disruptions affecting Indian travelers in Saudi Arabia.
New Delhi announced the opening of a dedicated control room in Makkah to track and address flight irregularities that have disrupted travel for Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia. The facility, staffed by officials from the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian embassy in Riyadh, will liaise with Saudi aviation authorities and airlines to provide real‑time updates and assistance.
The move comes after a series of delays and cancellations that left many Indian pilgrims and tourists stranded during the peak travel period. Officials said the control room will also facilitate repatriation efforts and ensure the safety of Indian citizens abroad.
India's diplomatic mission emphasized that the centre will operate round the clock, offering a single point of contact for affected travelers and their families back home. The initiative reflects ongoing cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia on Hajj logistics and broader aviation safety concerns.
