India pledges generous aid to Nepal for flood reconstruction, says Kathmandu

Kathmandu confirmed on Thursday that New Delhi has offered a sizeable assistance package to help Nepal recover from the severe floods that swept through the country earlier this year. The floods, which caused widespread damage to homes, infrastructure and agricultural lands, have left thousands of families displaced and in need of urgent reconstruction.

In a statement released by Nepal's foreign ministry, officials said India pledged both financial resources and technical expertise to support the rebuilding of roads, bridges and flood‑prone settlements. The pledge was described as "generous" and reflects the long‑standing cooperation between the two neighbours in disaster response.
