India has formally added the disputed border locations Gogra, Hot Springs and several other points in Ladakh to its official maps, a move aimed at countering Chinese claims along the Line of Actual Control.
Newly released strategic maps by the Ministry of Defence show Gogra, Hot Springs and a handful of other contested sites in Ladakh now marked as Indian territory. The update follows a series of confrontations with Chinese forces along the Line of Actual Control, where both sides have repeatedly accused each other of territorial incursions.
Officials said the move is intended to reinforce India's claim over the high‑altitude terrain that holds strategic value for surveillance and logistics. By formally documenting these points, the government aims to provide a clear reference for diplomatic negotiations and future military planning.
The revised maps will be circulated to all relevant agencies, including the armed forces and foreign affairs ministry, to ensure a unified stance in any forthcoming talks with Beijing.
