The INDIA coalition staged a march to the Odisha Legislative Assembly, urging the Chief Election Commissioner to step down.

The INDIA bloc, a coalition of opposition parties, organised a protest march that entered the premises of the Odisha Legislative Assembly. Demonstrators carried placards and chanted slogans calling for the resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), alleging bias in recent electoral processes.

Party leaders addressed the gathered crowd, stating that the CEC’s actions have undermined public confidence in free and fair elections. They urged the state government to take immediate steps to ensure the CEC steps down.

The march concluded without any reported incidents of violence, and officials of the assembly confirmed that the protest was peaceful. The demand adds to growing political pressure on the Election Commission ahead of upcoming elections.

No official response from the Election Commission has been recorded at the time of reporting.
