India A’s tour of New Zealand presents unfamiliar conditions, but batsman Smaran remains determined to score heavily.
India A arrived in New Zealand for a series of limited‑overs matches that test the side’s adaptability to faster, bouncier tracks and variable weather. While the squad adjusts to the new environment, opening batsman Smaran has spoken openly about his appetite for runs, saying the conditions only add to his motivation.
The young cricketer, who has been a consistent performer in domestic circuits, emphasized that the swing and bounce in New Zealand differ markedly from Indian pitches. He believes early practice sessions and a focused mindset will help him translate his hunger into tangible scores.
Team management and coaches have welcomed Smaran’s confidence, noting that his approach could set the tone for the rest of the touring party. As the first match approaches, all eyes will be on whether his determination can overcome the challenges posed by the Kiwi conditions.
