Two people were killed in a border incident between India and Pakistan, prompting both governments to summon each other's diplomats for clarification.

New Delhi and Islamabad have each called in the other's diplomatic representatives following a lethal incident on the disputed border. According to officials, two individuals lost their lives during the confrontation, though details about the circumstances remain limited. The summons are intended to seek clarification and prevent further escalation along the Line of Control.

Indian foreign ministry spokesperson said the move reflects New Delhi's concern over any breach of the ceasefire that could jeopardise regional stability. Pakistan's foreign office issued a similar statement, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation and urging restraint from both sides.

Both governments have urged their security forces to adhere strictly to the 2003 ceasefire agreement while diplomatic channels work to de‑escalate tensions. The incident adds to a series of recent skirmishes that have kept the Indo‑Pak border under close international scrutiny.

No further casualties have been reported, and the two countries have not yet disclosed the identities of the deceased. Observers note that diplomatic engagement remains the preferred route to manage such flashpoints, aiming to avoid a broader conflict.
