During a United Nations meeting, India rebuked Pakistan for spreading false statements about Jammu and Kashmir, calling them baseless and urging the international community to see through the misinformation.
India’s delegation at a United Nations forum sharply criticised Pakistan for what it described as unfounded allegations concerning Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian side said Pakistan’s statements were deliberately misleading and lacked any factual basis.
Pakistan had earlier claimed that India was violating human rights and suppressing the aspirations of the people in the disputed region. In response, India labelled those claims as lies, emphasizing that the country’s actions in the territory are consistent with its constitutional and legal framework.
India’s representatives urged UN members to rely on verified information and not be swayed by propaganda. They called for the international community to respect India’s sovereignty and to focus on constructive dialogue rather than unsubstantiated accusations.
The exchange underscores the continuing diplomatic friction between the two neighbours over Kashmir, a dispute that regularly surfaces in multilateral forums such as the UN.
