The Indian Meteorological Department has ruled out a heavy downpour in Coastal Karnataka, offering a brief respite from the expected rains, while a chill in temperatures is setting in.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a statement on Thursday, indicating that the forecast for a heavy downpour over Coastal Karnataka has been ruled out. The decision follows a review of satellite data and surface observations that suggest rainfall intensity will remain moderate.

Meteorologists noted that while the region will still receive showers, the amounts are expected to be lower than previously predicted. Residents in districts such as Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada can anticipate lighter rain, reducing the risk of flooding.

In addition to the rain outlook, the IMD highlighted a drop in temperatures across the coastal belt. The cooler weather is expected to bring a chill that could affect daily activities and agriculture in the area.

Local authorities have advised people to stay updated with weather alerts and to take precautions against sudden weather changes.
