The India Meteorological Department forecasts light rain and occasional hail in Delhi as the outer bands of Cyclone Arnab move inland.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a short‑term outlook for the national capital, indicating that Delhi will experience light showers accompanied by occasional hailstorms as Cyclone Arnab draws nearer. The system, currently over the Bay of Bengal, is expected to send its outer rain bands northward, reaching the city later today and into tomorrow.

Meteorologists said the precipitation will be intermittent and generally moderate, with hail confined to brief, localized bursts. No major flooding or severe wind damage is forecast for Delhi, but residents are advised to stay alert for sudden downpours and slippery roads.

Cyclone Arnab is projected to intensify further before making landfall along the eastern coast of India. While the core of the storm will remain far from the capital, its peripheral effects are sufficient to alter weather patterns over the northern plains.

Authorities have been instructed to monitor the situation closely and to ensure that drainage systems are clear. The public is urged to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy spells and to keep emergency contacts handy.
