The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and rain expected in Bengaluru this afternoon.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a yellow alert for Bengaluru, warning of thunderstorms and rain expected later this afternoon. The alert covers the city and surrounding areas, indicating a moderate weather disturbance.
A yellow alert signals that weather conditions could become inconvenient but are not life‑threatening. Residents are advised to stay informed, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, and secure loose objects that could be affected by strong gusts.
IMD forecasts suggest that the rain may be intermittent, with brief heavy downpours accompanied by lightning. Local authorities have been notified and are prepared to respond to any emergencies that may arise from the weather event.
The department will continue to monitor the situation and may upgrade the warning if conditions worsen, urging the public to follow updates through official channels.
