The India Meteorological Department has issued a storm warning for Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, predicting heavy rainfall over the next two days.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a storm warning for the states of Punjab and Haryana, as well as the union territory of Chandigarh. The alert indicates that these regions are likely to experience heavy rainfall starting today and continuing through tomorrow.
Meteorological data suggests that the weather systems affecting the northern plains are intensifying, leading to the issuance of this specific warning. Residents in the affected areas have been advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions against waterlogging and potential disruptions to daily activities.
Local authorities in Punjab and Haryana are monitoring the situation closely. The IMD's forecast highlights the need for preparedness, particularly in low-lying areas where heavy rain can cause significant inconvenience. No specific casualties or damages have been reported at this stage, but the warning remains in effect for the duration of the predicted weather event.
