The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert for Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu for October 16, urging residents to stay prepared for possible showers.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) released an official rain alert for four regions – Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu – for October 16. The advisory warns of the likelihood of rainfall across these states and the national capital, prompting local authorities to monitor weather conditions closely.
IMD’s notification advises residents to stay informed about any updates and to take precautionary measures, especially in areas prone to waterlogging. While the alert does not specify exact quantities, it signals that rain could affect daily activities and travel.
Authorities in the concerned states are expected to coordinate with disaster management agencies to ensure readiness. Citizens are encouraged to follow official channels for real‑time updates and to heed any further instructions from local officials.
The alert comes as part of IMD’s routine seasonal monitoring, aimed at minimizing disruption and safeguarding public safety during the monsoon transition period.
