Authorities have seized hydroponic cannabis at three Indian airports, indicating a rise in smuggling attempts via air routes. The seizures underscore growing concerns over drug trafficking through aviation channels.
Security officials reported the recovery of hydroponic cannabis at three separate airports across the country. The substance, known for being cultivated in controlled indoor environments, was found concealed in luggage or cargo.
The nature of the product suggests a deliberate attempt to evade detection, as hydroponic cultivation allows for higher potency and discreet production. Investigators are examining how the consignments managed to bypass initial screening procedures.
These incidents point to an emerging trend of using air transport for narcotics smuggling. Authorities have heightened vigilance and are reviewing screening protocols to prevent further attempts.
