HYDRAA has warned that it will take strict action against individuals or groups trying to extort money by falsely claiming to represent the agency. The notice aims to shield the public from fraudulent schemes using the agency’s name.
The Hyderabad-based agency HYDRAA issued a public statement stating that it has become aware of cases where extortionists are using its name to demand money from citizens and businesses.
HYDRAA clarified that no official of the agency asks for payments outside the prescribed legal procedures and warned that anyone found impersonating its officials will face legal action under relevant laws.
The agency urged the public to verify any communication claiming to be from HYDRAA by contacting its official helpline or visiting its verified website before responding to any demand.
HYDRAA also said it is coordinating with local police to identify and prosecute those involved in such fraudulent activities, and assured that strict measures will be taken to prevent misuse of its identity.
