The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board reported an unexpected rise in water‑tanker requests this October, matching the volumes typically seen during the peak summer months.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) said that the number of water‑tanker calls it received in October has surged to levels normally recorded during the city’s summer season.
Officials described the spike as unseasonal, noting that October usually experiences a decline in water‑tanker usage as monsoon rains begin to replenish reservoirs.
In response, HMWSSB is mobilising additional tankers to meet the heightened demand and has appealed to residents to practice water conservation while the board assesses the situation.
The board will continue to monitor water‑supply conditions and adjust its operations to ensure adequate service across Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
