Hyderabad Leads Telangana in Voter Additions and Deletions in SIR Exercise

Hyderabad has emerged as the leading city in Telangana for both voter additions and deletions during the recent Summary Revision (SIR) exercise, the state’s election authority reported. The SIR process, which updates the electoral roll ahead of upcoming elections, involves adding eligible new voters and removing ineligible or duplicate entries.

Data released by the election commission shows that Hyderabad recorded the highest number of changes compared to other districts in the state, reflecting the city's dynamic demographic shifts. Officials said the high volume of updates is typical for urban centres where migration and population growth are rapid.

The commission emphasized that the exercise aims to ensure a clean and accurate voter list, thereby strengthening the credibility of future polls. No specific figures were disclosed, but the trend underscores Hyderabad's pivotal role in Telangana's electoral landscape.
