The Union Home Minister presented medals to 490 police personnel and 115 Central Reserve Police Force members in recognition of their role in anti‑Naxal operations.

New Delhi – In a ceremony presided over by the Union Home Minister, 490 police officers from various state forces received the Home Minister's Medal for their contributions to internal security. The award ceremony also saw 115 personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) honoured for their active involvement in anti‑Naxal operations across the country.

The medals, which recognize distinguished service and bravery, were presented to the recipients on a stage set up at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Officials highlighted that the awards reflect the continued commitment of the police and paramilitary forces in counter‑insurgency efforts, particularly against Naxalite groups that operate in several tribal regions.

The Home Minister congratulated the awardees, emphasizing that their dedication strengthens India's internal security architecture. The ceremony concluded with a pledge to sustain support for frontline personnel engaged in combating insurgency and maintaining law and order.
