A three‑time attendance system has been rolled out in a CBSE‑affiliated government school in Himachal Pradesh to improve monitoring of student presence.

The Himachal Pradesh education department has launched a new attendance mechanism that records student presence three times a day in a CBSE‑affiliated government school. The system captures morning, midday and afternoon check‑ins, allowing teachers and administrators to verify attendance more accurately throughout the school day. Officials say the move aims to reduce absenteeism and provide real‑time data for parents and authorities.

The pilot implementation began this week, with school staff receiving training on the digital tools required for the three‑point logging process. Early feedback indicates smoother record‑keeping and quicker identification of irregular attendance patterns.

The department plans to extend the triple‑check system to other government schools across the state if the initial rollout proves successful, signalling a broader push toward technology‑driven education management in Himachal Pradesh.
