Late Thursday night, a fast‑moving tipper collided with two motorcyclists near LPU on Jalandhar’s Cantonment Highway, killing a doctor and leaving the other rider seriously injured.
A high‑speed tipper struck two motorcyclists on the Jalandhar Cantonment Highway near Lovely Professional University late Thursday night. The collision occurred close to the LPU campus, a stretch known for heavy traffic during the early hours.
One of the riders, identified as a medical doctor, succumbed to injuries at the scene. The second biker was rushed to a nearby hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Police and traffic officials arrived shortly after the crash, cordoning off the road and beginning an investigation into the cause of the tipper's excessive speed. Preliminary reports suggest the driver may have lost control while attempting to overtake.
