Satna in Madhya Pradesh experienced a sudden downpour on Wednesday, recording 56 millimetres of rain within a three‑hour window and more than 90 millimetres since the morning. The intensity of the precipitation quickly turned several streets into temporary streams, disrupting traffic and daily movement.
The floodwaters entered the premises of the local Bharatiya Janata Party office, rising to approximately four feet and submerging the ground floor. Officials at the office reported that the water level made entry impossible and caused damage to furniture and documents.
Neighbouring localities such as Bardaidh and Mayur Vihar also reported worsening conditions, with low‑lying areas facing similar water accumulation. Municipal crews have been dispatched to clear drainage channels and assist residents, while the district administration monitors the situation for any further escalation.
