A construction launcher collapsed on the under‑construction bridge of the Bharat Mala project on NH‑139W in Vaishali, Bihar, injuring six workers, two of them critically.
A heavy bridge‑launching crane fell abruptly at the Bharat Mala project site on the NH‑139W fore‑lane in the Lalganj police jurisdiction of Vaishali district, Bihar. The accident occurred while the structure was still under construction, causing the equipment to topple onto the work area.
Six construction workers sustained injuries in the incident. Two of the injured were reported to be in serious condition and have been transferred to Sadar Hospital for advanced medical care, while the remaining four received treatment for less severe injuries.
Local authorities have cordoned off the site and launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collapse. The project, part of the national Bharat Mala initiative to improve highway connectivity, has been temporarily halted pending safety assessments.
