A trade association in Haryana has warned it will halt operations unless extortion demands are withdrawn, raising concerns for local businesses.
The trade body representing manufacturers and traders in Haryana announced that it will suspend its activities if the alleged extortion demands are not withdrawn. The association said the demands are hampering normal business operations and threaten the livelihood of its members.
In a statement, the body warned that a shutdown would affect supply chains across the state, potentially causing shortages and price volatility for consumers. It urged the authorities to intervene and investigate the claims of coercion.
State officials have been approached for comment, and the matter is expected to be examined by law‑enforcement agencies to determine the veracity of the extortion allegations and to prevent any disruption to the state's commercial sector.
