New Delhi – The Haryana state government has announced that interest will be payable on any payments it makes that are delayed beyond the stipulated deadline, a move aimed at improving cash flow for contractors and suppliers.
The policy was disclosed by Minister Saini during a press briefing, who said the decision responds to long‑standing concerns from vendors about late settlements.
Under the new rule, the interest rate and calculation method will follow existing financial guidelines, and the government will incorporate the cost into its regular accounting processes. The measure is effective immediately and will apply to all pending dues across departments, officials added.
