The Haryana government has cleared a ₹1,662 crore tender for the construction of Phase 2 of the Gurugram Metro, marking a significant step toward expanding the city’s rapid transit network.
The Haryana government announced on Tuesday that it has approved a ₹1,662 crore tender for the construction of Phase 2 of the Gurugram Metro. The project, which will extend the existing line by approximately 20 kilometres, is expected to add 10 new stations and enhance connectivity between Gurugram and the national capital region. The approval follows a comprehensive feasibility study and a competitive bidding process that attracted several national and international firms. Construction is slated to begin in early 2025, with an estimated completion date in 2030, according to the transport department.
