In a landmark ceremony, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited officially transferred domestically produced Tejas fighter jets and upgraded Dhruv NG helicopters to the armed forces in Bengaluru.

The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bengaluru formally handed over a fleet of Tejas fighter aircraft and upgraded Dhruv NG helicopters to the Indian armed forces. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in India’s defence manufacturing capabilities, showcasing the country’s ability to produce advanced military hardware entirely domestically.

The Tejas fighters, known for their stealth and agility, were delivered after extensive testing and certification processes. The Dhruv NG helicopters, upgraded with modern avionics and enhanced performance features, represent HAL’s commitment to improving indigenous helicopter technology.

The handover underscores India’s strategic goal of reducing dependence on foreign defence suppliers and boosting self-reliance in critical defence sectors. Officials from HAL and the armed forces highlighted the importance of this achievement for national security and technological advancement.

The event was attended by senior defence officials and HAL executives, who praised the collaborative efforts that led to the successful production and delivery of these aircraft. The transfer is expected to strengthen the operational capabilities of the Indian military across various theatres.
