Police in Gujarat have taken a gym manager into custody after several women reported hidden cameras, blackmail threats and abuse.
The police in the western state of Gujarat have arrested the manager of a local fitness centre following complaints from multiple female members.
According to the statements filed, the women claim that concealed cameras were installed inside the gym’s changing rooms and workout areas, allowing the manager to record them without consent.
The victims also allege that the manager used the footage to threaten them with blackmail and subjected them to verbal abuse when they confronted him.
Gujarat police said the case is being investigated under sections of the Indian Penal Code dealing with voyeurism, extortion and criminal intimidation, and that further inquiries are underway.
