A joint team from the Child Commission raided the Darul Ul Quran madrassa near Gwalior’s AG Office, rescuing 22 children, including seven girls, and has begun probing alleged deficiencies in the institution’s facilities.
A coordinated raid was carried out on the Darul Ul Quran madrassa located near the Assistant Government Office in Gwalior on Tuesday. The operation, led by officials from the Child Commission, resulted in the rescue of 22 children, seven of whom were girls.
The children were reportedly living in conditions that raised concerns about their safety and well‑being. The Commission’s team secured the premises and ensured the immediate safety of all rescued children.
Following the rescue, authorities have launched an investigation into the madrassa’s facilities. Preliminary reports suggest that the institution may have lacked adequate sanitation, proper accommodation, and basic safety measures.
Officials are also reaching out to the parents and guardians of the rescued children to gather further information and to coordinate the children’s return to their families or placement in suitable care arrangements.
